How to Draw a Cool Lion Head

Start off by making an angled shape of the lion's face structure like you see here. There should be the forehead, sunken in sides for the cheeks, and then the pointed chin.

Add lining to the face along the sides of the face which will add definition to the lion's face. Draw the nose and then the mouth lines which will also form the lips.

Next up, draw the thick slits for the eyes, then draw in the crinkle on the forehead between the eyes.

You will now draw out the mane in a diamond like shape like so. Then add the pointed ears.

For the last drawing step all you have to do is draw the strand lines within the mane for the added texture to make it look puffy. If there are any mistakes erase them now.

That's it, you are all done. Now you can have a blast coloring in your drawing.

Description: Over and over again I used to say to myself "there must be a way to an easier way to draw a cool lion head that won't leave me glued to the canvas for hours". Well, when someone asked me if I could make a drawing based on a cool but simple way to draw a lion's head I said I sure can. This is my concept or idea. The head is very angled and has lots of points. The entire mane surrounds the lion's face in a very clean, simple manner which will be incredibly easy to replicate. I feel confident that folks of all artistic skill levels will be able to tackle drawing a cool lion head like the one you see here without any real complications. Anyways, go ahead and give this lesson a go and I will return with some other cool lessons for you all.
