This is a very easy first step, all you have to do is draw a circle for her head, and then add the facial guidelines. Lastly, draw the body lines like so.

2

Now begin drawing out the shape of her face, and then start drawing her eyes, eyeballs, and then the top lid lining of her hat. Don't forget her friendly smile.

3

As you can see, You are now ready to begin drawing out Sophie's body lining which is also her dress. Draw in the collar, and then begin sketching out her arms and hand.

4

Continue to draw out the shape of her body and or dress, and then finish drawing out her cute hat, and hand. Once that is done, you can finish her arm, and hand.

5

You have now reached your last drawing step. All you have to do here is finish drawing in her face, and then add the bangs. Her left arm and hand need to be finished, and when that is done, add the subtle detailing to her dress like the ruffle under

Description: Well everyone, I know I was supposed to go live today but unfortunately there was a humongous thunderstorm that took out the lights and left me with no power, hence no Livestream. Anyway, now that I am back on, I am about to show you guys "how to draw Sophie Hatter". This female character is from a British novel which was written from Diana Wynne Jones, named “Howl's Moving Castle”. The novel was first published back in 1986, and went on to win a Boston Globe-Horn Book Award. As a matter of fact the book did so well, that Japanese manga artist Hayao Miyazaki adapted the novel into an animated series. The anime series was also well recognized and was eventually nominated for an Academy Award. Anyway now that you know something about the novel, let's talk about the main character Sophie Hatter. She comes from a place called Market Chipping located in a magical kingdom named “Ingary”. She is best known for her needle creations as she makes nifty looking hats and dresses. She is certain that her life will never hold any purpose because she believes that she will whined up running the family business which is a hat shop. Sophie also believes that she will be cursed one day by the hands of the Witch of the Waste. This powerful witch is determined to turn Sophie into an old hag because she is mistakenly identifying her with Sophie's sister. In the story she is an eighteen year old girl that has red colored hair. She is also considered to be pretty even if she doesn't believe that to be true. In the tale, Sophie leaves the hat shop because Witch of the Waste turned Sophie into an old maid. Once that happens, she becomes a cleaning lady at Howl's castle, and she is determined to find a way to left the evil curse that the witch so wrongly bestowed onto her. Even though I have never read the novel, I am fortunate that my fifteen year old brother has. He is the one that gave me the 411 on not only the storyline, but the character as well. I think I will pick up this novel because it sounds rather interesting to me. For now though, I will teach you all who know of the story, "how to draw Sophie", step by step. I will be back with some really fun, exciting, and cool tutorials momentarily so stick around to see what they will be. Peace out people!
