How to Draw Simon, Gurren Lagann

Step 1.


Start with a circle for the head and then draw out noting but guidelines for the face, neck, shoulders, torso, arms, and legs.

Step 2.


Here you will begin drawing out Simon's face shape and then sketch the bangs of his hair like so. Be sure to make detailing lines to the hair for added texture. When that is done, draw the shapes of the ears.

Step 3.


Now that Simon's face is all drawn out, you can make the eyes, color in some pupils, and then sketch the blush marks on the cheeks. Add his mouth and inner ear detailing as well.

Step 4.


All you have to do now is draw the shape of his goggles and then draw in the lenses.

Step 5.


Sketch out the top of his head which is of course covered with hair, and then draw out Simon's skinny neck and front V outline of the necklace.

Step 6.


Finish drawing out the jacket by sketching out the upright collar, shoulders, and then the long sleeves. Draw the opening of the jacket and then draw the pendant.

Step 7.


Finish the lining for the jacket by drawing out the other sides. Add some detailing and definition, and then draw in the belt and pant waist which has a flare or extra material.

Step 8.


Now draw out the shorts and then add that flap of belt that is hanging on the left thigh.

Step 9.


As you can see you are almost done. Draw out the legs, and then sketch in some knee dimples, and sock lines.

Step 10.


Okay guys, all you have to do is draw out the rolled over tops for the shoes, and then draw out the shoes or his feet. Add some crisscrossing for the bandage like wraps around his ankles.

Step 11.


Lastly, draw some bands on the tops of his boots and then start erasing the lines and shapes that you drew in step one.

Step 12.


Here is what Simon looks like when you are all done. Now you can start coloring him in to really finish this character off. Thanks for joining me guys!

Description: This is Simon; Simon is from an anime manga series called Gurren Lagann. Today I am going to show you "how to draw Simon" using a tutorial that will be a lot easier than you think. I have already submitted most of the main figures from the anime, but there is still a couple characters missing and Simon was one of them. He is THE main protagonist that becomes the hero and conquers feats that are considered to be incredible. There is a few ways that Simon is seen in the series, first as a young boy, than as a teen, and finally as a young man. He was born in the village of Giha, which is considered to be one of the more fortunate places on the futuristic planet called Earth. This is because unlike most places, Giha has much needed supplies like water, animals, and even light that is made with generators. Even though he is not a young boy anymore, he still has those young boy characteristics. Simon is often seen wearing a long sleeved red and blue colored jacket, and a pair of brown shorts. On his head he also sports a pair of goggles over his dark indigo colored hair. No matter how you look at it this character is definitely interesting. I don’t know much about Gurren Lagann, but if you do you will have fun drawing Simon.
