How to Draw Shoe from The Boxtrolls

Step 1.


Show is an oblong style box. You will draw out the body shape first then draw in the box flaps on the sides. When that is done you can move to step two.

Step 2.


Here draw in Shoe's head shape which is as you can see very odd. Add the ears and move to step three.

Step 3.


Begin drawing in Shoe's face starting with the mask like lining that frames out the shapes of his eyes. Add detailing inside the ears, then proceed to step four.

Step 4.


Continue to work on the face by drawing the nose, frown lines around the sides of the nose and mouth. Draw the mouth line and then add the wrinkles on the forehead. Add some hair and that's it.

Step 5.


Finish drawing the mouth, add the nostrils and then draw in some bottom teeth.

Step 6.


Add dimension to the shape of Shoe's body to make it look like a thick box. When that is done you can draw the hole for the arm, then draw the arm and hand. Don't forget to add the last bits of detailing to his body.

Step 7.


Draw in the other hand, then move to step eight.

Step 8.


To finish this drawing on Shoe all you need t o do is make the design on the front part of his box body. Add skin detailing to the hands and elbow, then draw in the rest of the definition for the box.

Step 9.


Once all the mistakes are erased you should end up with a drawing that looks like the one you see here. Now all you have to do is color in your character.

Description: This lesson will end the tut series based on The Boxtrolls characters. I couldn't end the series without making a tutorial on "how to draw Shoe from The Boxtrolls". Show is an adorable character but too bad he has a grouchy personality. I also believe that Show is a clepto when it comes to shiny metal objects. Anyways, drawing Shoe will be fun enough.
