Step 1.
Start this first step by drawing five different shapes for all the shells that you will be drawing. They basically look like tear drops, almonds, and circles.

Step 2.
Now start sketching out the different shapes and textures of all the various shells you see here. Take your time, and you will draw these shells perfectly.

Step 3.
Draw the horns, spikes, and detailed engraved lines that make the shells look real. Many shells have spiral patterns on their surfaces as you can see here with the three different ones you see here.

Step 4.
Add some more detailing by adding a spiral pattern, and then start erasing the guidelines and shapes you drew in step one.

Step 5.
You are now ready to color in your shells, and then use them in a future tutorial when you draw people on a beach. I hope you had fun, and maybe next time I will surprise you all with something very summer-e.

how to draw sea shells
Description:
There is so many fun things to do when you go to the beach, and although there is a wide variety of stuff to do, that hardest part is picking out what to do first. One of my favorite things to do at the beach is collect seashells. Yeah sure, digging up sand, and making sand castles is great too, but I like taking strolls on the beach with the very same sand pail, and collect all different types of shells that I come across and find. This drawing lesson is going to show you "

", step by step. There is a lot of crustaceans that live in ocean waters and even though these critters are almost always ugly, they generally live in rather beautiful shells that happens to be their homes. When you "

" it's almost as fun as collecting them. When I have a big collection that I have gathered over the summer, I will usually make a decorative plate that I wrap up and give to my grandmother for her birthday every October. I have been doing this for three years now, and every one of the shell plates looks prettier and prettier with watch passing year. Creative art is something that I love associating drawing with because I will sometimes draw a nice picture on the surface for her, and the whole nine. Anyway, there are five different types of shells that I drew. One is a Queen Conch shell, and a spiral shell, a couple of sea urchin shells, and a regular conch shell. I think they all came out rather nice, and if you love summer, and the beach, you will definitely enjoy learning "
