How to Draw Ponyo

Draw a circle for the head and then add the facial guidelines. Next draw the torso shape and then draw another circle for the bottom half of her body. You will then draw the limb lines for the legs and arm.

All you will do in this second step is draw out the shapes of her eyes and then color in her eyeballs. Add a dash for her nose and then draw out her mouth.

This third step is going to be based on drawing out her entire hairstyle and shape. Make sure the ends or tips are sharp but not too pointy. When that is done draw out the shape of Ponyo's face.

Start sketching out the shape and style of her shirt which includes the collar and sleeves. When that is done you can than draw out her arms and some of her hands. The right hand is holding a handle for her bucket.

Finish her left hand and then sketch out the rest of her clothes and or dress. Draw out the rest of the pail shape and then move to the next step.

For you last drawing step I want you to draw out the shapes of her legs and feet. Once her feet are sketched out you can begin erasing all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one.

This is what Ponyo comes out looking like when you are done. It was that easy!. All you have to do is color in the finished drawing. Well that does it for this lesson on "how to draw Ponyo step by step"

Description: I have two anime characters that are going up today from a movie originally by Studio Ghibli, and written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki. The movie is a Japanese animated film that is now in movie theaters with Disney pictures bringing it to the screen. So what are these two characters that I am talking about? I will just go right ahead and tell you who I am going to draw. I will be showing you “how to draw Ponyo” step by step. The story is about a young boy who finds a pretty goldfish in the ocean that is stuck in a bottle shaped glass. He brings the goldfish home and names her Ponyo. Unfortunately I have not yet watched the movie so my description of the character is not going to be all that good. I do know that she is the daughter of a human sea wizard that wants only the best for her. His name is Fujimoto and his goal is to keep his daughter Ponyo a fish to keep balance through out the world, and to keep her from being exposed to the way of life lived by man-kind. From the previews and pictures Ponyo looks like a girl that could pass as D.W.’s cousin. Of course the movie looks like it is good and it also seems like it is packed with action, adventure, and suspense. I honestly can’t wait to go and see this movie and if you see it before me, than you must tell me if it is worth my money.
