How To Draw Michael Cera, Michael Cera

1

To draw Michael Cera, we should first sketch out some basic construction lines. Use a 2H or harder pencil and sketch very lightly so that the lines are easy to erase later on after we ink. Sketch the basic oval shape of the head, neck, and upper shou

Let's start with the eyes. Make sure that they line up directly on the horizontal construction line and that they are roughly one eye width apart from one another. The iris and pupils need to be perfectly round and looking straight at us. Draw thin l

His eyebrows are very thing and light. Almost unnoticeable. Because he has deep inset eyes, the eyebrows should rest directly above his eyes and point downwards in the middle.

4

His nose if fairly long, especially the flesh of his nostrils. The tip of his nose comes to a sharp, downward point. Make sure that the nose is directly in the center of the face. It should end about half way between the eyes and chin.

5

Cera has fairly thick lips, the lower lip being thicker than the upper. The upper lip has a noticeable V shape in the middle of it. You can draw his lips partly slightly. Draw the indentation above his upper lip, as well as the crease below his lower

Now draw the outer contours of his face. He has a narrow jaw. There should also be two thin lines outlining the bottom half of his round chin.

We should only be able to see the lower half of his ears, since the upper half will be covered with hair. Taking the tilt of the head into consideration, the earlobes should align with the tip of this nose. Notice how there is an indentation between

Let's face it - Michael Cera has terrible hair. It's coarse, never well styled, and often frizzy. Draw his hair only a couple inches long with the hair clumped in sections that point in different directions. The outer contours of the hair should appe

His neck is rather thin and should be pointing to the right side of the page. Do not just draw straight lines. The lines should have subtle curves to them.

10

He can be wearing a polo shirt. The collar should rise high up on the back of his neck, but should be bunch together on the right side of his neck. Draw a few extra creases in the shirt.

11

Now that we are done penciling the image we can ink it. Use either Micron markers, or a brush and India ink to do your inking. A brush works great when inking hair, since it allows you to feather nicely. Carefully go over each line with patience and

You can add a greater sense of depth to the image by giving it shadow. Use either a thick felt tip marker, or a brush and ink to do so. Establish your light source, and in this case it is coming from above his head. Shade the underside of his nose, l

If you need to make any corrections you can use white ink or opaque white paint. You can also use it to add highlights, such as in the hair. And that is how you draw the one and only Michael Cera! Nice work!
