How to Draw Jaws

Artist: Dawn / December 29, 2013

Step 1.

You will start by drawing a large pointed cone shape for the nose of the shark. When that is done you can draw out the curved mouth which will later be filled with teeth.

Step 2.

Define the shape of the shark's snout and nose. Notice how there is a slight indent on the sides.

Step 3.

Start drawing sharp teeth along the guideline you drew for the mouth opening. The teeth should look jagged and uneven with one another.

Step 4.

Continue to sketch in the shark's teeth. You are drawing the teeth in a manner where you are looking up into the mouth.

Step 5.

Next, draw the bottom mandible or bottom jaw, then draw in more teeth along the mouth lining.

Step 6.

For the last step, color in some eyes, then draw and color in the nose holes. Add some crease lines under the nose too. Erase the mistakes when you are done.

Step 7.

The line art looks like the drawing you see here. Color in Jaws and you are finished.

Description: I'm sure almost all of you have seen the 1975 film based on a Great White shark known as Jaws. This tutorial goes out to all of you shark fans that love the classic movie directed by Steven Spielberg called 'Jaws'. Even though the film is old, I still love watching the movie. Each time I sit and watch Jaws, I still squirm in my chair. I love all the characters from Martin Brody the chief of police, to Quint the fisherman, and to Hooper the rich kid who is an oceanographer. Anyways, have fun with drawing Jaws folks and remember to keep those comments and requests coming in.
