Step 1.

Make the outlined shape for Hogarth's head shape like so, then draw in the small neck and shoulders. Sketch in the facial guidelines as well.

Step 2.

The next thing you have to do is draw in his hairstyle which is your typical fifties or sixties du. There is a part over to the right of the head, and then a high arch as it flops back down.

Step 3.

All you have to do here is draw out the shape of Hogarth's face, then draw in his big ears as well as add some detailing to them.

Step 4.

Hogarth has a very expressive face so when you begin this step, keep that in mind. Draw the hairline under the bangs, then draw in the raised eyebrows, wide open eye shapes. Color in the pupils then draw the nose and big happy smile. Hogarth has defi

Step 5.

You will draw in the neck shape, then draw collar from his shirt as well as the opening from his jacket which will be more evident in step six.

Step 6.

Here is the last step, all you have to do is draw in the rest of the jacket collar and then draw in the barrow shaped shoulders. Add that line for his high neck shirt that he is wearing then erase the mistakes if you made any.

Step 7.

I present Hogarth from The Iron Giant. I bet you did an awesome job and I can't wait to see your work submitted to your artwork profile. Color Hogarth in to bring this epic character to life.

Description: I know a lot of you are familiar with the face you see before you now and I couldn't be more happier to submit this lesson on "how to draw Hogarth", step by step. I don't think there is another character out there named Hogarth, but just in case there is, his full name is Hogarth Hughes and he is from the much adored animated movie 'The Iron Giant'. I simply love The Iron Giant and even to this day when I watch it, the movie still feels like it's a brand new film because it stands the test of time. Hogarth is the main character from the film, along with his robotic friend who feel from the sky, Giant. Hogarth is an adventurous boy that loves what all boys his age love; catching wild animals and keeping them as pets, watching horror movies after hours, and imagining the impossible. He is cute, fun to look at and watch and has a great personality. Drawing Hogarth from The Iron Giant is going to absolutely fun for those of you that have seen the movie and are fans like myself. Peace out and enjoy.
