How to Draw Hair For Kids

For the first step you will need to make a circle for your head that you will be drawing the hair on.

Next, let's make a simple looking face structure by drawing out the top of the head, and then draw the shape of the face. You will also need to draw in an ear and then color in two eyes, and a mouth like so.

Notice how I explain that the shape of a person's head needs to be round, not flat, square, or triangular, just round.

Using the face guide that you just made, choose from the styles you see here, or you can go ahead and draw them all. You will start by drawing the bangs and or top parts of the hairstyle.

When drawing hair, always make sure that you leave a gap between the actual line of the scalp from the hair. This will create a full head of hair effect just by raising the hair lining a bit.

For my final tip, I show the motion of how curly or springy looking hair should be drawn. As you can see the outer lining of the hair is raised, and sloped inward as well. The ends of the curls should come out, and then the relaxed curls should dip i

After you clean everything up, the hairstyle that you chose to draw should come out looking like one of the six, or all six like you see here. Color in your new style, and I hope you had fun with creating a whole new head, or heads of hair.

Description: Here’s the thing, after browsing through the front page of the site, I came to realize that I needed more helpful lessons for the novice or beginning artist. I already made a very helpful tutorial on drawing eyes for kids, but what about other parts of the human body and or face. After thinking what I could do next, I came up with an idea to show folks "how to draw hair for kids", step by step. Drawing hair is a very important part of the whole drawing process when creating a new character of your own. Even if you want to replicate a figure that you’re fond of, or admire, you still need to know the very basics to creating hair that will only bring out the persons look that you are drawing. In this tutorial I will give you a series of different hairstyles that you can choose from. This is a very easy to follow and learn from lesson, and in all honesty it doesn’t matter if you are an intermediate or even advanced artists, this is still going to be a fun, and carefree tutorial that you will, without a doubt love and understand. I’ve included three boy hairstyles, and three girl hairstyles that you can choose from. You can either pick one, or all when tackling this lesson. Me on the other hand, I have to get out of here so I can prepare the next submissions for you all. So go ahead and have fun with drawing hair for kids, and let me know if you like it by leaving a comment, rating or by even faving. Adios people and enjoy!
