Before you draw hair, you must realize that the head is a round surface. Therefore, hair will not look perfectly straight once on that surface. It grows outwards and morphs around the form of the head.

Here we will begin drawing out the hairstyle. For this face I choose something simple, which is a short style with pointed ends. The bangs are going to be full looking too.

Draw out the shapes of the eyes, then sketch in the nose, smile, blush marks on her cheeks, then add the eyebrows, and detailing inside of the ear.

Finish up this face by drawing the shape of her neck, followed by some of her torso which is the shoulders, and neck line or shirt collar. Erase the mistakes like so.

Description: Aloha everyone! I want to welcome you all to the new year and to another lesson that will prove to be helpful to all you aspiring artists out there. To begin the submission day I will be showing you "how to draw faces for kids", step by step. There are a lot of folks out there that just need a simple drawing tutorial that can show you how to make faces for any type of character that you want to create. In the lesson I will try to teach you some of the basics when it comes to drawing faces. The simple steps and face concepts will help you make your own people when you want to draw a human figure for whatever idea you come up with.
