Let's get started. Draw a circle for the dog's head and then add the facial guidelines. You will then draw a short neck line and attach two other circle shapes, one for the torso and one for the back end. Next draw the four leg lines.

Okay now you will start sketching out the shape of the dog's head and make sure you sketch out the flopping ears. Give him a scruffy kind of look by adding some busy fur, and then draw out the eyebrows, eyes, pupils, and nose. Be sure you color in th

Now that the head and face is basically drawn out, you will start sketching the shape of the snout and jowls, and then draw in a cute doggy bone. Next, sketch out the neck, chest and the beginning shapes of the dogs two front legs and paws.

Draw a chin, and then finish sketching out the dog's mane. You will continue to draw out the body as you see here. The back, belly and front legs will also need to be drawn out in this step, as well as the beginning shape of the one hind leg and paw.

Here is your last drawing step. All you have to do is sketch out a scruffy looking tail, and then finish drawing out the back legs and paw. Erase all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one.

Here is what your dog looks like when you have finished this tutorial on "how to draw dogs step by step". It is time to color him/her in and it a name. That is it! Great Job.

Description: Well I have a few lessons on the front page that are about animals, so I thought it would be only right to submit another tutorial on another animal. I will be teaching you “how to draw dogs", step by step”. As you know there are many breeds of dog in existence. And with every breed of dog, each one has a different background, and are even relatives to other breeds. There are dogs that are crossed with four different other dogs just to get a unique breed like an Italian Mastiff. My favorite dog breed is first the German Shepherd, and then the French Mastiff. The French Mastiff is like no other. These massive dogs reach to be two hundred plus pounds, and they have the face of a bat. I owned one for about a week but then we had to get rid of him because he only liked females. That posed a problem since there are three males in the family. Anyway, this tutorial will be easy. I just drew one dog because that is all you need to learn how to draw, in order to draw many dogs. Once you draw one, you can draw as many as you like. I have always liked drawing animals, especially when it comes to cartoon style ones. True, this dog is not as cute as the kitten I submitted, but he is still pretty good all the same. The lesson shouldn’t be too hard to get through. Once you are done teaching yourself "how to draw dogs" with this tutorial, you can color in your pooch any shade you like and you can even draw markings in the K-9 to resemble one of your favorite breeds, or to look like your pet at home. Have fun guys and I will join you all very soon with some more drawing fun. Peace peeps!
