Description: It’s time that I do another one of Spiderman’s rivals and I think that most of you will be pleased with this tutorial that is going up. I am going to show you "how to draw Doctor Octopus" step by step. Now the good doctor adopted that name from the news paper editor in chef. His real name is Otto Octavius and before he became the infamous Doc Ock, he was a well respected inventor, lecturer, and nuclear physicist. The reason why he was geared toward his education is because his mother told him over and over again not to be like his father. Otto’s father was an abusive man toward his mother and himself. He worked in a factory which is why he had such a bad temper. Back then factory workers where struggling to feed their families and keep a roof over their heads. Because of the excessive abuse that young Otto received from his dad, he grew up to only become shy, and he always kept to himself. Eventually Otto’s father died in an accident while he was at work. This lead the young boy to become more determined to study and master physical science and become the bright young doctor he grew up to be. After a while of researching and inventing, Doctor Octavius developed an astonishing invention. It was the creation of four mechanical arms that contained massive amounts of strength, accurate movement, and best of all it was resistant to radiation. The octopus like arms were attached to a harness that was wrapped around the doctors waist with a mechanical spin that traveled up the back and connected to the heal of his neck. The reason why the good doctor became bad, is because there was a radiation leak which lead to an explosion that fused the arms to Otto’s body. It was also said that the doctor suffered brain damage and that is when he started to lead a life of crime. Doctor Octopus is probably one of the more popular foes that Spiderman deals with which is why he was written into the Spiderman 2 script. This tutorial was a bit hard for me to do because of the arms, and all the detailing in them. I was going to do a lesson on the character from the movie but that is not what the comic books have so here it is.
