How to Draw Dave Chappelle, Dave Chappelle
1
Start by making the guides for the head and torso. The torso is also the shoulders. Sketch in the facial guidelines, then move to step two.
2
Sketch out the shape of Dave's face which has some wavy lining. Be sure that the jaw line is defined.
3
You will tackle this step by sketching out the rough looking eyebrows, the sketch in the shapes of his eyes. Notice how the eyes have that puffy look. You can get that same look by sketching defining lines under the eye and by making the crease linin
4
Now you will begin sketching out the shape of Dave's nose, followed by the lips or mouth and his thin lined mustache. Add the to his cheek as well to give it that indent.
6
What you will do now is draw out Dave Chappelle's kangol hat that he is often seen wearing. These hats are flat and form fitting. Sketch in the stitch detailing then move along.
7
Next up, draw out the shape of his neck, then begin sketching out the thick collar flaps from his sweater or jacket that he is wearing. Add detailing to the clothing, then you are done here.
8
Lastly, draw the shoulders, and all the crease, wrinkle, and fold lines throughout the sweater or overcoat. When that is all done you can begin erasing the mistakes.

Description: I'm really excited to be uploading this lesson on one of my favorite comedians. Today I will be showing you "how to draw Dave Chappelle", step by step. Dave Chappelle was born in Washington D.C. on August 24, 1973 which would make him thirty nine years old. Both his mother and father were professors at two different colleges. Even though he was born in Washington, he grew up in Maryland. Growing up as a kid Chappelle knew he wanted to be a comedian and there were various personalities that inspired him but the two that gave him the most inspiration was Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor. In 1991 he graduated Duke Ellington School of the Arts and afterwards he moved to New York to start his career as a stand-up comedian. With one of his performances he was booed off stage after gaining enough courage in the first place to even stand in front of the crowd during Amateur Night at the Apollo Theater. Instead of getting down and unmotivated by the experience, it fueled his desire more to become a comedian. By the age of nineteen he was in a movie as ‘Ahchoo’ in Robin Hood: Men in Tights which is a Mel Brooks film and it was very funny. After that, his career took off and in 2003 he starred in his own show on Comedy Central called ‘Chappelle’s Show’ and it is there that he gained a following as he did various parodies of American culture that involved politics, pop culture, and even racial stereotyping. Anyways drawing Dave Chappelle will be easy enough for folks to tackle even if it is a bit complicated for some of you novice artists. Have fun people and enjoy.
