How to Draw a Wolf Face

You will begin with a circle then sketch in the facial guidelines.

Next, begin the drawing process for the snout, then draw the nose and mouth.

Using the facial guides, begin sketching out the shapes of the eyes. Make sure you do this in the traditional way that wolf eyes should look. Add the crease and wrinkling where applicable, then sketch in the detailing on the nose and around the chin

Now we can begin sketching out the head, face and neck. As you know wolves have a very heavy or fluffy coat. You must draw the lining to convey or show this very texture. Draw the ear the very same way, then add some detailing where needed.

Sketch out the other wolf ear like so, then add detailing inside of the ear. You will sketch out all the definition on the face and chest like so. This will add texture to his coat as well as realism.

Lastly, sketch in the back part of the wolf's body. This time make longer coat edges. Erase the mistakes and you are ready to color in your work.

Description: As some of you may know, I have a lesson that I made a while ago based on a wolf's face with a luminance glow for the coloring. I love drawing wolves, and if you look throughout Dragoart's site you will see more than a few lessons based on the wolf. Here is "how to draw a wolf face", step by step. The wolf that you will be drawing is going to be both fun, simple, and exciting. One of the most things I like about this lesson is the coloring. I wanted to do something different as far as effects go, so I went ahead and gave this wolf some glowing void style eyes, and a radiance around him from the glow of the moon. In all I think it came out super, and I think you will enjoy drawing a wolf face too. You can choose to color in your wolf face any way you like, and you can even give it some nice markings as well.
