How to Draw a Steampunk Heart

Start off by drawing a heart shape like so. This heart can be any style you like.

You will now add the lining to form the border of the framed heart, then draw the circle to the left corner of the heart design.

Define the hole from the circle you made in step two like you see here. When that is done you can carefully begin drawing the gears inside the heart. As you can see the gear needs to be drawn in a very mechanical manner. Add the small details, and th

Here you will add the studs around the border of the heart shape like so, then add more detailing to the right corner of the heart.

For the last step all you have to do is draw in the chimney style metal stack which has the lid tipped over. When that is done add the detailing to the stack, then erase your mistakes.

Here is the finished drawing when you are done. Color in the steampunk genre heart, then if you want add some smoke or steam coming from the stack.

Description: I have a few steampunk designs coming your way and it is these concepts that I was talking about when I said I was excited to be uploading a few tuts that are out of the box. To start, here is "how to draw a steampunk heart", step by step. This heart was really fun when I was drawing it. I love how the gears and mechanical parts all come together as a whole with the completed concept. For those of you that don't know what steampunk is, I will try to explain. From what I understand steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction and features concepts made from steam powered products or attire. This steampunk heart is exactly what someone would expect if searching for such a concept. Drawing a steampunk heart will be less complicated then you think so go ahead and give this lesson a go.
