How to Draw a Sleeping Cat, Sleeping Cat

Begin your drawing of a sleeping cat by making a round circle for the head. You will then need to sketch in the facial guidelines.

Next, using the facial guidelines, you will draw out the slanted shapes of the eyes, then draw the nose and mouth or lips.

Now you can begin drawing out the cat's head and face shape. When cats sleep their heads slope down low, and their ears spread out like you see here. After you draw out the ears add some fluff in the middle of the forehead like so.

Now we can draw out the cat's body which is in a curled up pose. When you do this make sure that the tail wraps to the front of the body as the face rests tucked into it.

Finally, all we need to do now is draw the paw, toes, sketch in the whiskers and then draw the definition for the brows tail and body. Erase the mistakes that you made previously.

Here is what your sleeping kitty looks like when you are all done. Color in the cat any shade you like.

Description: Well, now that I got that big tutorial out of the way, I can relax and submit a cute cuddly cat that is too quiet and serene. Up next we will be learning "how to draw a sleeping cat", step by step. Drawing cats is always fun, but when you draw one that is sleeping, well that's just a different story. I had a difficult time trying to think up what type of cat I wanted to create. I knew I wanted it to be colored in to look like a tiger cat, but the color scheme had me flip flopping for a while. Finally I decided that I would go with an orange colored tiger striped cat. This cute kitty is sleeping his life away. It's probably due from all the play time he received and now he's all pooped out. This should be a rather fun lesson, especially if you're one of those people that was looking for a good tutorial on drawing a sleeping cat. Adios people and keep it down!
