How to Draw a Simple Tribal Tattoo

The first thing you're gonna want to do is draw out the shape of a human eye like so, and then the shape for the iris or pupil. Be sure that the top line overlaps the bottom lid line like you see here.

Okay, it's now time to start coloring in your eye, and make sure you leave a few areas white. There is two bottom crescent lines that need to stay white, and a a full circle shape at the top of the eye that needs to stay uncolored as well.

You will start the tribal pattern at the beginning part of the eyes make-up like you see here. Once the shapes are drawn out, you can color them in.

You will keep on drawing out the tribal pattern like you see here, and be sure to do a good coverage of the tribal design. I should point out that when you draw in these patterned shapes, you are essentially drawing out the actual shape of the eye.

Description: Hey everyone, I’m back once again today, and before I do another live session, I will be uploading my first lesson of the day. To start, I thought I would show you an easy way to "draw a simple tribal tattoo", step by step. Now when it came to choosing a design for this tattoo, I had to think what type of lining would look cool if it where drawn in a simplified manner. Then it hit me, a tribal eye. I absolutely love the way that I drew out this tribal pattern because the shapes and lines flow so nicely with each other making the task of replicating it, simple. When I first started to draw tattoos, I honestly didn’t know where to start, or how to get there. I turned to my very artistic cousin for some ideas and support, and he just filled me in on how you have to let your imagination totally take over when drawing tattoo art. As for tribal art, it’s more of a spiritual concept since the Polynesian people brought this unique inking style to the states. Has anyone seen the movie “The Tattooist”? Well, I have, and I have to say that it was not only creepy, but it was also very informative, and entertaining. The guy that played the tattooist looked like that guy from “The Pet Cemetery”, but I know that wasn’t possible because he is like in his late forties or something like that. Anyway, I think you will like this new type of concept art, as well as this tutorial on "how to draw a simple tattoo". No matter the style, you will most likely enjoy drawing this design because it is really easy and fun to replicate. I will be back with some more cool lessons in a bit. For now try on this tutorial for size and let me know what you think. Peace people!
