1

Begin this step by drawing the outer lining of the massive jungle tree. Start from the top, and work your way down. The branches on jungle tress are usually thicker and stronger than forest trees. Add some tree mushrooms to the side of the bark, and

2

Sketch in the tree definition which is the bark, and then draw the moss that is on the lower part of the tree and at the root.

3

Next, lets draw in some ground foliage like big fern leaves, and tall grass like like ferns. Continue to draw these leaves until they fill the lower part of the ground.

4

Next, sketch in the detailing on all the leaves like so, and draw in more of the grounds surface. You can also start adding some wild life it you want like birds, reptiles or insects.

5

Now you will begin sketching or drawing out the distant foothills like so, and notice how some of them have smooth lines and the others have bumpy or crinkle lines.

6

For the last step all you have to do is draw in the rest of the foothills in the further distance and then draw in the low hanging swamp like vines. Clean up the drawing and then lets see how it all looks.

7

Look how awesome this drawing looks of your new jungle themes background or landscape. Don't forget to color in your drawing to perfection, and then add some animals too.

Description: I really didn’t know what type of scene to make for a forest like theme with when creating this next landscape lesson with a ‘for kids’ theme. After thinking of what else I could create that could help aid people with drawing specific backgrounds, I came up with the idea to do a tutorial on "how to draw a jungle for kids", step by step. This lesson is going to be full of trees, leaves, foothills, and a bunch of moss filled ground. A jungle is a place that has heated temperatures, with a muggy, misty, sticky feel. I had so much fun making this jungle because my little eight year old sister helped me out with the concept. I think that there is a lot of potential with this background because you can add some tropical birds, insects and even reptiles to accent the whole drawing. I was going to include some wild life, but I thought I would leave that up to you guys. Well, that’s it, have fun with drawing a jungle for kids, and I will return in a bit with some more fun for you all.
