How to Draw a Football Helmet
2
Here is were you will start drawing the grill that protects the players face. Start at the head bar, then draw in the facial grill pieces that covers over the mouth.
4
From the side, sketch out the profile of the skull's face. Once that is done add shading to the eye sockets, temple and cheek. Also add scuff marks on the grill and over the face along the bottom lip line.
5
You will now sketch in the shell for the helmet and then draw the lid or lip at the base of the helmet.
6
Slowly sketch in the definition marks on the helmet, and then add the hole that is aligned with the ear inside the helmet. The helmet needs to end up looking worn, abused and or tattered.
7
Lastly, add the last dimensional shading under the grid or grill pieces and along the rim of the helmet. Erase whatever mistakes you made along with the guides.

Description: This is one of my favorite drawings I did yesterday when I was going through my creative hour. If you look inside the helmet you can see the image of a face, a skeletal face which is supposed to represent a players passion for the game of football. I wanted to show how dedicated football players are to their craft even if it seems like a mindless game. There is a lot of dangers associated with this sport. It's a game that uses powerful men as they all have the same goal, to gain the ball and hold onto it long enough to score a touchdown. These men are strong, and when they run towards one another they know that if they hit each other the wrong way, that could lead to serious injury and possibly death. This football helmet goes out to all you die hard football fans that love the game like a true fan. The grunge style of the helmet represents how the players play till the end no matter what type of weather. Have fun drawing a football helmet skull style.
