Description: Okay this is going to be the last tutorial for today because I have a lot more work to do with the sites layout. In this tutorial I will be showing you how to draw another house pet that many of folks own today. No, it is not a cat, dog, hamster, goldfish, or anything like that; it’s the exact opposite actually. Instead I will be showing you how to draw a ferret. Ferrets are very friendly animals that to me almost look like a cross between a rat, mouse, and weasel. Well, maybe they look like weasels because they are a close cousin to the weasel as well as the polecat. Polecats look a lot like meerkats, and ferrets look like a mixture of both, weird huh? Anyways these animals are domesticated and they vary in color. Ferrets are usually brown, black, white, or mixed fur and they are right around 20 inches in length. Don’t forget to add another 5 inches for the tail, so that would add up with a total length of twenty five inches long. That is a little over two feet or two feet one inch. They weight almost nothing only like three to four pounds. Believe it or not, ferrets were actually known to be a rare commodity back in the 1970’s in the United States. It wasn’t until the year of 1980 that these little guys became a popular pet for homes across the U.S after the ferret made their television debut on the David Letterman show. It was a woman by the name of Wendy Winstead who owned her first ferret in 1969. She became a ferret advocate until she died sometime in the 90’s. An interesting fact about ferrets is that their behavior is very much like a newborn baby because they spend anywhere between fourteen to eighteen hours a day just sleeping. When they awake they then turn into adventurous toddlers because then they are fully rested, which of course makes them very energetic, curious and interested in their surroundings. Hmm that sounds exactly like a two year old. To me I would never want to own a ferret because they remind me too much of rats, but their social and silly personality make them cute in their own way. This tutorial will show you how to draw a ferret step by step. The instructions are always easy to read and follow. I also made sure I drew him in my steps simple enough for a novice artist to tackle. Adios amigos I will be back tomorrow with more tutorials. Until then I bid thee farewell.
