How to Draw a Cartoon Seahorse
1
The shape of a seahorse is like a fishing hook. In this first step you will draw the guidelines and shapes to form a workable frame for your sea animal. Start with a circle for the head, and then add the facial guidelines. Next draw a blade shape on

You will now use the facial guidelines to draw the shape of the eyes, and then add some detailing. You will then draw the coronet which is the hooves shape on the back of the head. Next draw the long snout and add a smile. Draw the shape of the jaw a

You have already reached step three which means you will be drawing the frills on the top of the seahorses head. Next draw the definition lines on the coronet as you see here, and then start sketching out the shape of the seahorses body which is the

Finish sketching out the shape of the seahorse's body which is the exact shape of a hook. The lining is not smooth, it has a constant flow of dents and bumps. Draw out the dorsal fin and add the fin detailing as well.

All you have to do here in your last drawing step is draw out the patterned markings on the seahorses body. Now start erasing all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one.

Description: I am almost done with my lessons for the day and I think that they all came out pretty good. I can't wait to submit my next series of tutorials later on today. In the mean time let's get started with talking about what you will be drawing next. I decided that having a lesson on a seahorse isn't good enough. How about a submission that teaches you “how to draw a cartoon seahorse step by step”. The seahorse is one of my favorite saltwater fish. I think it is so amazing how these sea critters look just like horses. The seahorse is really an amazing animal. They have beautifully shaped equine bodies and they come in all different types of colors and shapes. Some cool facts about the seahorse that I will mention, is that these sea animals are 100% monogamous. What that means is, when these animals find their mates, they stay with them for life. There is no cheating, sneaking, or any other kind of adultery when it comes to their mates. In fact, male seahorses are the one single male animal in existence, that carries an unborn young inside of their bodies instead of the female. Do you know what fish is the relative to the seahorse? Well, truth be told they are close relatives to pipefish. Now, I'm sure that I must have talked about his very same thing with the realistic seahorse that I submitted a long time ago, I just wanted to mention these facts again because there is a lot more new members on Dragoart, and I feel that every person that lands on this site should read some cool information for the day. I think you will like this tutorial on “how to draw a cartoon seahorse”. Enjoy yourselves people, and keep your minds open, and your imagination endless. Peace!
