How to Draw a Cartoon Monkey

Step 1.


To start this tutorial on "how to draw a cartoon monkey", you will obviously need to draw some basic guidelines and shapes to make a workable frame. Start with an oval shape for the body of your cartoon monkey and then draw a smaller circle for the h   

Step 2.


In this step you will start by drawing out the actual shape of the cartoon monkey's face. Once that is complete, draw the shape of the rounded ears and then draw in the face using the facial guidelines that you drew in step one. Color in the pupils a   

Step 3.


Now you will start sketching out the shoulders of the cartoon monkey and make sure when you do this they have edge lines that are hairy. Continue on and draw out the rest of the arm shapes as you see here and then add dimple lines where an arm would    

Step 4.


You are already almost done with this lesson on how to draw a cartoon monkey. What you will be doing next is drawing out the hind legs and then draw out the cartoon monkey's feet as you see them here. As you can see the feet also look like a set of h   

Step 5.


Well, welcome to your last drawing step. All you need to do here is draw out a hint of a back end and then draw the long monkey tail. Once that is done you can start erasing all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one.

Step 6.


Here is what the finished drawing should look like when you are done. Color in your ape and then you have just finished learning "how to draw a cartoon monkey step by step". Wasn't that awesomely fun?!

Description: Welcome one and all to another bright day on DragoArt.com. I wanted to start the day with a vivid and eye popping tutorial that I drew yesterday while I was live. So for the first lesson of the day I will be showing you “how to draw a cartoon monkey”. I have a lesson on a baby monkey, but as you know a baby monkey and a real cartoon monkey are totally different concepts. The cartoon monkey that I drew is incredibly cool and easy to learn from. I love the position that the animal is in and I think that the eyes came out looking awesome too. The background was colored in yellow because that is the shade of their favorite food which happens to be bananas. The coloring for the monkey himself can easily be done by using colored pencils. You can also use crayons but that may leave your cartoon ape looking like a coloring book image. But all in all your drawing will definitely be cool, and I know for a fact that this will end up being a favorited lesson for many artists out there.
