How to Draw a Boxer

Step 1.


Okay start this step by drawing a total of five circles. The first one is for the head which is smaller than the torso, you will add the facial guidelines in the head shape. Next draw a slightly curved line for his neck and connect it to the egg shap   

Step 2.


Okay now in this step you will start sketching out the lining shape for his muzzle and then the front line shape for his chest. You will then add the shaping of the front leg and shoulder as shown to you here. Once you are done with the front lining    

Step 3.


As you can see once you are done with this step you will start noticing the Boxer's features. You will now add the shape of his cropped ears and then draw out the acorn shaped eye and then his small nose. you will also sketch out the shape of his jow   

Step 4.


Well you have made it to your last drawing step and here you will finish off the face by adding his eye ball and adding some detailing marks like the whisker holes and detail the inside of the ears. you will then add the marking lines and finish off    

Step 5.

Description: For my next tutorial I will switch it up a notch and do a lesson on another animal. This time I will show you "how to draw a Boxer". Now for those of you that are not familiar with this breed I will share some information on them. But first I wanted to tell you all why I chose this animal to draw. The reason behind my madness is because in later months my parents are going to be buying a Boxer dog for the family. Now I can tell you some facts on this breed which is why we selected this type of dog. First off the Boxer is a breed that is very loyal, faithful, fearless and true for their family. They are very gentle with children but very firm when it comes to guarding their home. In the year of 1895 German breeders decided to take charge and improve the dog’s stature. So the Germans founded the first Boxer club in Munich and they later held their first show in 1904. It wasn't until the early 1940's that the Boxer breed gained popularity. It is said that the breed is crossed with the Mastiff and the Bully breed which gives the dog similar facial appearance to that of an English Bulldog and the body of a Mastiff. Now, the Boxer has a muscular body, his coat is short and smooth, and they have square heads, tight skin, and docked tails. Some people choose to crop the ears so that they are erect but this procedure is banned in some states in the U.S and in other countries as well. A male Boxer should stand at least twenty three to twenty five inches and weigh any where between seventy and eighty pounds. The face of a Boxer is very cute. The nose is broad and the jaw seems to stick out from under like an under bite. The top of the muzzle is slightly pushed in like an English Bulldog. The common colors of a Boxer dog are fawn and brindle. They usually have white markings on their snout, chest, belly, feet, neck and inner legs. A solid white Boxer is considered not acceptable for show. When owning a Boxer dog they require a bit of exercise like a run in the park or daily long walks.
