How to Draw Soren
1
This owl is going to be very simple to draw. The first thing you will do is make a circle for his head, and then add the facial guidelines. Next, draw out the lining for his super long wings like so.
2
Next, begin sketching out the actual shape of Soren's head, and then begin adding the lining for his facial features. This includes the eye lines, and beak line. As you can see there is also some of his back drawn in as well which is behind his head.
3
Finish drawing in his eyes, as well as coloring in the pupils. Next, draw a heart shaped frame that surrounds Soren's face like you see here. When that is done you can then begin sketching out his wings a little at a time. You want to make sure that

Continue to sketch out the wings like you see here until they are fully completed. You will then add some detailing and definition which will add texture to the wings making them look like actual feathers. When that is done, draw the undercarriage of

For your last drawing step, all you need to do is draw the tail which is peeking through the back, and then his legs and feet. Erase the lines and shapes that you drew in step one to clean up your drawing.

Description: Well, the first lesson of the day is going to be based on a very popular character from a series of books I have read when I was a younger teen. I have known for a while now that this particular story is going to soon be a movie as of September 24th of this year. The flick is going to be called “Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole”. If I'm right, many of you are familiar with the book, and if you are, you will enjoy this lesson on “how to draw Soren", step by step. This is one of the main characters of both the movie, and book. Soren is part of “The Band”, and he is what you call a barn owl. He was born to Noctus, and Marella in the Kingdom of Tyto. Along with his family there is also a nestmaid called Mrs. Plithiver. She is a blind snake that later becomes a member at the Great Ga'Hoole tree. Anyways, Soren has a couple of friends, but one of his best friends is Gylfie. She is an Elf Owl that is also part of “the Band”, and she is later kidnapped in the story along with Soren. The owls that kidnap Soren are from St. Aegolius for Orphaned Owls. There is so much more to this story that I am not talking about and it's mainly due to the fact that there is really too much to say. You would either have to read the books, or wait until September 24th to see the movie in theaters. I was asked by my sister what the movie is going to be about, and to tell you the truth I didn't know what to tell her because it could be about a bunch of things. I had to look and see what the recreation of the book was based on and here’s what I found. The movie surrounds Soren as his life goes through one of the greatest adventures. He dreams of one day becoming a Guardian of Ga'Hoole, and in order to fulfill his dreams or destiny, he must conquer the many obstacles of his travels. I think the movie is going to be a big hit, and hopefully it is just as good as the books that where written by Kathryn Lasky. In general I think you guys will have fun learning "how to draw Soren of the Band", and if you want to see other characters from the book, just let me know. I will be back later with more drawing fun so stay tuned in guys!
