How to Draw Rin Matsuoka

Step 1.


Make the shape of the head like so, then sketch in the facial guidelines.

Step 2.


Up next, use the shape you just made to draw in Rin's suave hairstyle which is some neatly placed bangs parted on his forehead.

Step 3.


Draw in more of his hairstyle like so, then add some shading to form the root of the hair attached to his scalp.

Step 4.


You will draw in the goggles which are strapped to his forehead, then add a pointed piece of his bang or hair.

Step 5.


Define the goggle lens' then proceed to step six.

Step 6.


You will now draw the eyes starting with the thin eyebrows. Next, draw the shapes of his eyes or upper lids.

Step 7.


Finish drawing the shapes of the eyes like so, then draw the nose, mouth and nostrils.

Step 8.


Draw the shape of the face, then draw in the neck.

Step 9.


You can continue to draw the body by completing the neck shape, then draw the shoulders, arms and some of Rin's chest.

Step 10.


We will focus on the shirt collar next. Draw the raised collar and then draw in his right shoulder and arm. Add detailing to the clothing material, then you can move to step eleven.

Step 11.


All you have to do here is sketch in the definition to form his chest which is as you can see well toned and chiseled. Add detailing to the jacket or shirt that he is wearing, then erase the mistakes and guides.

Step 12.


That's it, you are done drawing Rin Matsuoka. Now all you have to do is color him in. Great work guys, I hope you had fun.

Description: One of the only reasons why I am uploading this lesson is because I wanted to complete the character group going by uploading the last couple tuts on the rivals for the Iwatobi High School swim team. Here is "how to draw Rin Matsuoka", step by step. More often then not rivals are almost always more masculine in stature then their counterparts. I think it's an intimidation play to make the good guys look more vulnerable when it comes to competing. Anyways, enough about that. Enjoy this lesson on drawing Rin from Free! and I will upload my last tut for the day.
