1 Step one, drawing the guidelines

This is a simple first step, just draw a single line with curves or curls. Add a small line for the top part of the plant.

2 Step two, drawing bamboo shape

You will now draw the actual thickness of the bamboo stalk. As you can see you will need to draw in the grooved lines that flow down the stem of the plant.

3 Step three, drawing more bamboo shoots

Okay, go ahead and draw in more of the bamboo stalk along with the leaves.

4 Step four, drawing more bamboo

Continue to draw more of the bamboo plant shoots until you reach your desired height.

5 Step five, last drawing step

That's it. You are almost done. All you have to do now is draw more foliage at the base of the luck bamboo plant.

6 Final lineart step

Here is the luck bamboo when you are all done. Go ahead and color in your plant.

Description: One of my favorite plants is the lucky bamboo. I know a lot of you out there has owned a bamboo plant at some point in your lives, and if you haven't, then you should go out and buy one because they are so beautiful and need very little work to maintain. These plants are usually bought with some sort of twist in their stem. They are often curled and in small pots and grow like crazy. I have had a lucky bamboo for 10 years and it is so big, it's almost at the ceiling. When taking care of a bamboo, the only thing you really have to do is change the water it sits in at least once a month. I also clean the rocks as well. Some folks chose to grow their bamboo in soil, but for me its easier to keep them in a glass vessel with glass rocks and water. Anyways, drawing a lucky bamboo will be easy enough. I hope you like this lesson.
