How to Draw Elena Gilbert, The Vampire Diaries

Step 1.


Make a round shape for the head guide and then lightly sketch in the facial guides like so.

Step 2.


Sketch out the shape of her face like so, and then draw in her hair strands that frame her face. She has long straight hair that is parted in the middle. Make two strands on the left side like so.

Step 3.


We are now ready to start sketching in her eyes starting with the just top eye lids. Once that is done begin sketching out her nicely shaped brows and make sure the brow hairs are flowing in the same direction.

Step 4.


This is one of my favorite steps because I love how pretty her eyes are, and I love drawing eyes. Begin by drawing the lid crease like so, and then finish sketching out her eye shapes. Sketch in the lashes, as well as her iris'. Color in her pupils,    

Step 5.


Sketch in her nose like so, and then draw in her mouth in the form of lips. Sketch some detailing and then you can proceed to step six.

Step 6.


You are now ready to sketch out the rest of her hair and like I said in step two, she has long straight hair, with some curl at the ends. Sketch in the texture definition by adding the hair strands, and then that's it. Clean up the sketch and you are   

Step 7.


The line art is done, and as you can see she looks amazing. I know you guys did a fantastic job.

Description: I was talking to my sister yesterday and she asked me if I had ever done a tutorial on the lead female character from The Vampire Diaries, and I said…no. She then said in a shocked manner, “what”! I have to say, the way that she screamed the word “what” was quite shocking because she really could not believe that I didn’t have a tutorial on "how to draw Elena Gilbert", step by step. The actress that plays Elena is Nina Dobrev. Elena is human that is very protective over all those that she holds dear to her heart. The series starts out with her in school and from there she meets a fellow student in the process of signing up to attend school. His name is Stephan Salvatore and automatically there was an instant connection between the two. For Stephan he already knew that Elena was his soul mate but for Elena, she couldn't understand why she was drawn to this stranger in such a mysterious way. My sister loves The Vampire Diaries and if you always wanted to watch the series but don’t catch the network that it airs on, you can always log onto the website and watch The Vampire Diaries free.
