Step 1.


We are going to start this first step drawing out the guidelines and circle shapes to form a basic frame for Donkey Kong. Start by drawing out the shape of his large circled head as shown. After that sketch in facial guidelines. The next shape you wi   

Step 2.


This step is simple enough because all you are going to be doing here is drawing out the small bone shape that is going to be the framing part of the face that Donkey Kong's eyes will be drawn in. When that is done, simply sketch out the round shape    

Step 3.


Now that you have the frame work done for Donkey Kong's face, you can start drawing out his eyes, and then color in the background of the eyes all black. When that is done draw in the great big smile, and then add some nostrils. Be sure to draw that    

Step 4.


Moving forward, we will now draw in his teeth to fill in his smile. Donkey Kong has a memorable smile and it's so easy to draw. Just make a line in the middle of the mouth, and draw in each tooth after that. The teeth on the bottom should be smaller.

Step 5.


As you can see drawing Donkey Kong is not at all that hard. All you have to do here is sketch out the top of his head which looks like the top of an ice cream cone, and then draw in his round, but full ears.

Step 6.


Donkey Kong's head is all set. Now we can work on the rest of his body and we will start by drawing out his muscular torso. Start at the center of the ear and slowly draw out the neck muscles which turns into the shoulders. Once that is done, continu

Draw Donkey Kong's chest and the middle of his torso which is also the chest, and stomach. Next, draw in his famous signature tie and draw the initials DK at the bottom of the tie.

Step 8.


Wow, look at the size of those hands. That is what you will be drawing out right now. Start at the base of the wrist, and then draw in his hands which are in the form of fists. This is because apes and gorillas always use their hands to get around. D   

Step 9.


You are on your last drawing step. What you will do here is finish sketching out the body which consists of the sides of the body, and then draw out the legs and then his feet. Erase the lines and shapes that you drew in step one to clean up the line   

Step 10.

Donkey Kong has been a video game character for nearly 30 years. The first game ever that debuted the big monkey was a self titled arcade game released in 1981. I probably didn't start playing the game until it was released on the Nintendo video game console. It's funny how things work out because in his first game he was the one that kidnapped a female who looked like Princess Toadstool her name in the game was Pauline, and Mario then called Jumpman, had to climb ladder after ladder dodging wooden barrels and other obstacles that were thrown from Donkey Kong as he sat at the top of steel framed platform. As you know this game became a big hit for Nintendo and later the two characters that balled each other went on to become two of Nintendo's most popular video game icons. Jumpman became the plumber Mario who looks sort of the same but just less color. Donkey Kong then looked more like an ape, and what I mean by that is, he looks more like a wild animal that had modernization. Now this big furry animal has a lot of style and pizazz. Not only is he more attractive to look at, but he also wears a tie with his initials written right on the bottom. After he earned his success, his son Donkey Kong Jr. is the one that goes on a mission to save his papa from the clutches of Mario. That is right, after Mario finally captures Donkey Kong, his son sets off on a vine swinging adventure to release his father from the steel bared cage that he sits in. That was a fun version of the game series. As I got older I moved on to bigger and brighter video games as the systems got more advanced. Now a days Donkey Kong is featured in a variety games where he is helping other game characters battle or racing them on the track. I will always remember my game playing days when I use to struggle to get to the top to rescue both beauty and beast. In this tutorial you will learn "how to draw Donkey Kong", step by step.
