How to Draw an Easy Tree

Step 1.


This is just a tip step that visually shows you how the roots of a tree may protrude through the ground. This happens with humongous trees like oaks, and maples. You can also draw a straight stemmed tree without the uprooting like you see here.

Step 2.


When making tree branches you should always have some of the branches exposed through the leaves. This makes for a more realistic feel because no tree is fully covered by leaves. There is always exposed branches and sticks that show through.

Step 3.


Here I explain the difference between tree bark patterns and sticks. The sticks of a tree are the skinny or small arms that grow off the random branches on a tree. It is the stick like branches that the leaves grow on.

Step 4.


Begin by making a large circle for the tree top, and then a straight line for the trunk. It should look like a lollipop.

Step 5.


You will now begin drawing out the tree trunk starting at the top. Make the small branches and gradually make the branches larger the more you move down the trunk. When you get to the bottom you can either have a uprooted trunk, or leave the roots be   

Step 6.


Now for the last drawing step, take your time as you draw in the foliage. This is easily done just by making bumps until it looks like a full head of curly hair. Erase the lines and shapes that you drew in step one.

Step 7.


Here is what your easy tree looks like when you are all done with your drawing. Now you can color it in to really complete your tree. Thanks guys for joining me with this lesson on how to draw an easy tree.

Description: Don’t worry guys, I will upload something for Thanksgiving before the days end. I just wanted to comment on the realistic tree that finalprodigy uploaded a few days ago. He is one of the artists on the site that is extremely gifted in realistic art. Now the tree that he uploaded was so freaking awesome, and so simple to replicate. Because I know not everybody here has the skill level to draw something as rich as the realistic tree, I wanted to make a tutorial on a tree that all the novice artists can tackle with extreme ease. I understand that trees are a plant that can be difficult to draw. That’s why you will learn "how to draw an easy tree", step by step using this tutorial. The steps are easy to follow, and the instructions are pretty simple to read and understand. When you are done with this lesson, you will have yourself a newly drawn tree that can be used in all of your background art, or even used in creation of a nice scenery. You can also use this easy tree to make some beautiful winter trees by adding some white colored layers. No matter what you choose to do with your new tree art, you will definitely have a blast teaching yourself how to draw an easy tree. I have to bounce out of here for now but I shall return in a bit.
