Next, begin shaping out the actual structure of the head. Be sure to make the nose pointed. When that is done draw a large clawed front foot.

The mole I saw didn't have a nose like the you will draw here, instead it was spiked. I later found out that it was in fact a star-nosed mole. Draw the nose and then color in an eye.

Lastly, draw out the body, other front clawed hand, and then draw the back foot. You can choose to draw in a tail if you like, I decided to keep it out of the picture just so folks wouldn't think this animal was some sort of mouse.

Description: Here's a funny story; I actually wanted to make this lesson on how to draw a mole for kids, step by step because I actually seen a mole for the very first time in my life right in my backyard. I know a lot of you have probably seen one of these critters before, but for me seeing one was weird because it didn't look like anything I expected it to at all. I imagined moles to be at least the size of a guinea pig or good sized pet rat. I never imagined them to be as small as a field mouse, and it was incredibly ugly. The whole story is not that odd at all, but if you have lived in the city your whole life you're not used to seeing animals like moles in your backyard. My dog was actually the one that found the mole. I was looking at the buds of an apple tree and glanced over at the dog because he was acting out of character near a trench hole close to where i was standing. I looked over a few times before I actually made my way towards my dog. I hesitated to get closer because I seen something drop from his mouth and I'm not one that enjoys to be surprised unexpectedly. As I crouched my way over to the dog, I looked in the trench where he was fussing with some critter. At first I thought it was a mouse, but when I got closer I saw that it was in fact a mole. This critter was so ugly to look at because of the pink, spiked snout, and the pink colored front feet which look more like clawed hands. The worst part is the mole had a long mouse like tail covered with hair. Eww, I don't think I ever want to see one of those things again. Anyways, I think you will enjoy drawing a mole in a for kids fashion. I made this tutorial for my eight year old sister who asked me to make it after she finally seen one up close and personal. Enjoy folks, and be sure to leave a comment and or rating, or even better be sure to do both. Adios people!
