How to Draw a Kimono
1
Start with drawing some simple guidelines and shapes to form a workable frame for your kimono and model. Draw head shapes and facial guidelines. You will then draw out the guidelines to form the shape and position of the body pose. Once this is done

You will start this step by sketching out the long hair style on the models and then add some detailing as well. Once that is done you can sketch out the shape of the faces and then draw the beginning shape of the arm and hand.

You will detail and define the hair styles for the two models and then you can sketch in their pretty faces. Of course they look like manga/anime characters. Once their faces are sketched out you can then start drawing the shape of torso and the kimo

Description: Let's shy away from the veggies and get back into some really cool stuff to learn how to draw step by step. Two days ago I drew a tutorial on a certain Japanese attire that both male and females wear. I love the way this piece of clothing came out, and I hope that you will find some use for this particular object. I will teach you "how to draw a kimono step by step". Kimono is a word used by the Japanese, and believe it or not but, the word only means "things to wear". I honestly thought that the word "kimono" meant something elaborate and or cool, but come to find out it's not. The history on the kimono is pretty cool though. My older brother is really into Japanese culture, and because of this he is always learning new things. He learned that this piece of clothing has been in use for many, many, many years. Back in 794-1185, woman of Japan wore beautiful kimono robes that came in fantastic colors. Woman that belonged to royalty sometimes wore layers upon layers of kimonos, as much as sixteen pieces at one time. It wasn't until the end of 1912 that kimonos were worn outside the homes of woman. Pretty soon this type of clothing became more and more popular with geisha girls and their okami. Okami are the women who watch-over and run the "okiya" that geisha and trainees live in. Kimonos are usually accompanied with an "obi sash belt". These are the thick pieces of fabric that wrap around the waist. The kimono that you will be drawing has the long flag like sleeves and it also has a obi sash. I had so much fun drawing out this Japanese clothing, and I know for those of you that love drawing geisha, this lesson is sure to come in handy. Well I do have to leave once again because I have much more work to do. Have fun learning "how to draw a kimono step by step". Color in and design your Japanese kimono in any shade you like. I will be back in a bit with another submission for you all. AdiĆ³s, and happy drawing!
