How to Draw a Cemetery

Begin by making the hump shapes for two headstones. One is a regular rounded shape, and the other has notches on each side.

You will define and detail them like so making them have some actual dimension.

Next, draw three more headstones of different shapes behind the headstone on the left. Once that is done add some rocks and pebbles to both grave sites.

You will make one more gravestone and this time it will be behind the first one you drew on the right.

Add the actual surface of the graveyard which in this case is a mist a first, but will turn to a sea of green when you color in the drawing.

Next, add a square headstone that also has a cross on the top. Older headstones look like this and if you come across one, it wasn't cheap for the family who bought it for their loves one who passed.

Add more of a scenery lining in the background along with a path that leads into the graveyard or cemetery site.

Draw a creepy tree branch which is bare or free from leaves, then if you want you can add the iron rod fence and big full moon with a light overcast swimming across. Erase the mistakes once you are satisfied with the results.

Here is the finished drawing when you are all done. Now you can have a blast coloring in your cemetery for Halloween.

Description: There has to be at least one lesson on Dragoart for Halloween that is classic to any person out there that likes to visit graveyards during the night of October 31. That is why I created a tutorial on "how to draw a cemetery", step by step. One of my favorite movies to watch during the third week of October is 'Pet Cemetery' by Steven King. I didn't read the novel yet, but I intend to because Salem's Lot was pretty freaky and creepy so I'm assuming that Pet Cemetery would be too. A cemetery is full of old stones, iron rod fences, and a lot of stone crosses. Drawing a cemetery for me was a bit creepy because just driving by one at night is scary. Imagine getting stuck on the side of the road somewhere in the country right next to an old cemetery? OMG that would make me quiver inside.
