How to Draw the Detroit Red Wings

Artist: Dawn / June 5, 2013

Step 1.

Make a circle for the base of the logo, then draw the outlined shape of the wing.

Step 2.

We will tackle the task of drawing out the wings. This is a simple task because the wings are in a cartoon like style which means there isn't too much detailing.

Step 3.

Color in the solid detailing for the smaller feathers that will add texture to the wings.

Step 4.

Take your time as you draw out the spokes for the rim of the small wheel.

Step 5.

Now you will draw out the wheel, then add the detailing to the wheel which is just bold lining. Erase any mistakes you made.

Step 6.

Here is the finished product when you are all done. Add a little color then that's it.

Description: So here is the second professional ice hockey team logo that I will be giving you a lesson on. The ironic thing is, I had no idea that the two hockey logos I submitted, recently went head to head in May. Here is "how to draw the Detroit Red Wings", step by step. The Red Wings is a team based out of, where else, Detroit, Michigan. They are part of the Central Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League and won a total of eleven Stanley Cups since the teams start with the last cup win in 2008. The mascot for the Detroit Red Wings is actually Al the Octopus, but I didn't include him in the lesson because I wanted to make the tutorial about the team logo and not the mascot. Anyways, have fun drawing the Red Wings logo and I will get busy with the other tuts I have for you all.
