How to Draw Pigeons

Pigeons have a small head on a large compact body. Their plumage is dark gray on the head and on the tail, plus two dark gray bands on the wings. The rest of the body is light gray.

Do not forget to add also the beautiful green and violet reflections on the neck's feathers. The bill is dark gray and the eyes are orange/red.

The feet of the pigeon have four clawed toes, three on the front and one behind. Their color is pink and the claws are black.

Now that we know something about pigeons we can start drawing one. First of all draw the guide lines like the ones in the image. As you can see, the head is small and the bill and the legs are quite short.

Draw the outline of head and neck.

Add the short bill and the round eye.

Continue the outline of the body following the guide lines.

Draw the wing and the tail.

Draw the short legs and the feet (step 3).

Add the nostril and details on the plumage and on the feet.
