How To Draw Joe Louis, Joe Louis

Step 1.


To draw Joe Louis, we should first sketch in some basic construction lines. Use a 2H or harder pencil and sketch very lightly so that the lines are easy to erase later on after we ink. Sketch out a basic upper half of a stick figure shape such as thi   

Step 2.


Next, draw the Joe's face shape which is boxy in shape and well defined. Make sure you sketch in that ear as well and use thin tapered lines for the hair line.

Step 3.


Now, work on the rest of the hairline for Joe to complete the shape of his head.

Step 4.


Next, draw his eyebrows and eyes. They should be fairly long, and pointing down in the middle. This will create a few crease above the bridge of the nose. Also draw a few horizontal creases on his forehead while you're at it.

Step 5.


Use the vertical construction line of the face to help place the nose in the center of the face. The bottom of the nose should end half way between the eyes and chin. He has a flat nose with wide nostrils and a rounded tip. Don't forget to draw his l   

Step 6.


Now, it's time to draw his wide and muscular shoulders as well as the beginning shape of his glove.

Step 7.


Finish off his body by drawing the rest of the glove on the left and the entire arm and right glove as well.

Step 8.


Lastly, using thin lines, sketch in the details that define the shape and tone of his body.

Step 9.
