How to Draw Cobra Commander

Okay this first step is very simple because all you will be doing is drawing guidelines for his frames body position and a small circle for his head. Once the head shape is drawn, add the facial guidelines.

Now that your lines are drawn out you are ready to start adding some shape to his frame to fill Cobra in. Draw two lines on the side of his head and make sure it is thick because as you can see he has a thick neck. Once that is set, draw out the outl

You have reached the third step and that usually means you are almost done. Now what you will be doing here is sketching out the shape of his chest muscles and then the uneven shaped lines for his hood. Once that is done you will draw out the shape o

Description: I hope you all liked the first lesson I submitted a little while ago on how to draw Bender from Futurama. In this next lesson I will be showing you how to draw Cobra Commander from G.I. Joe step by step. If any of you remember the G.I. Joe animated series you will know why this character is so incredibly cool. Cobra Commander was part of the group of villains that all resembled each other, acted like each other, or had the same dialog and humor of villains that were part of the eighties era. If you’re into villains like Shredder, Darth Vader, Optimus Prime, and other outrageous bad guys, you will love Cobra. All the villains I just mentioned always seems or seemed to make you chuckle once in a while. Anyways, Cobra Commander went through many different physical and visual changes over the years. Not only did Cobra Commander appear in an animated cartoon series, he also appeared in comic books and video games. Now I, of course am not too familiar with cobra Commander and the whole G.I. Joe series of cartoons, games and movies. But there is someone in my family that used to watch the animated series faithfully and that person is my father. After a member requested Cobra Commander as a tutorial, my dad thought that it would be a good idea because he was such a popular character and because the new G.I. Joe movie is set to be released in theaters some time in the middle of this year of 2009. Now, because I have little knowledge of this cool looking and developed character, I turned to my dad for information about this fictional star I was about to draw and write about. From what I’ve learned Cobra Commander used to be good friends with the all too famous Snake-Eyes, who is a ninja assassin dressed all in black. The two went their separate ways when Snake-Eyes refused to kill a corrupt Judge that Commander holds responsible for the death of his brother Dan and Snake-Eyes family. When Snake-Eyes walked away from killing the Judge, Cobra fulfilled his vendetta and vowed to never to think of Snake-Eyes as a friend again because he turned and walked away from him that night. The story is pretty deep because the two go their separate ways, one good and one bad. Cobra Commander became such a threat that he eventually started the Cobra High Command that had villains like Zartan, Baroness Anastasia DeCobray, James McCullen Destro or better known as just Destro, and then Major Sebastian Bludd who is considered to be a mercenary. All together they thrived to take over the world by creating a third world government which as you know made them a serious threat. The series was really good and I know that because I watched more than a few episodes on Youtube. This tutorial will show you how to draw Cobra Commander from G.I. Joe step by step. I hope you find this lesson awesome and fun as I did learning how to draw this villain with a black colored suit and soul. I will be back once again with something else cool so stay tuned.
