How to Draw an Easy Snowflake

Artist: Dawn / November 3, 2010

Step 1.

Start with a small circle in the middle of the flake, and then draw five spider like lines that come from the center and move out on an angle.

Step 2.

Now sketch out the center of the snowflake to a point where it looks almost like an octagon.

Step 3.

Now you will start sketching out the first of five large tops of the snowflake. Notice how this particular design looks very much like a leaf. When you are done here, you can move to the next step.

Step 4.

Continue to draw two more main tops to the snowflake the same way you drew the first one. Notice how they are all going to be uniform in shape, size, and design.

Step 5.

For the last step, all you have to do is draw out the last main tops like you see here. Now if you wanted to be really creative, you can draw in some small nods in the centers of each flake arm, or you can just go ahead and leave it how it is. Noneth

Step 6.

Now that you are done, here is what your snowflake should end up looking like. Now you can have fun drawing multiple flakes to create a winter wonderland. Great job everyone, and thanks for viewing this tutorial on how to draw an easy snowflake.

Description: I know you guys love Christmas and yeah, maybe it’s a bit too early to be uploading lessons of some pretty neat holiday stuff. To be honest with you, I feel that now is a perfect time to upload some fun things to draw for the Christmas season which is only about a month away. The reason why I feel this way is because when I was at the store the other day; they are already starting to put stuff out for Christmas like artificial trees, decorations, wreaths, and they are even stock piling on the toys. Today I will be teaching you guys "how to draw an easy snowflake", step by step. Snowflakes are one of the easiest things to draw if you know what you are doing. I do have a regular lesson on a snowflake that I submitted some years ago, and that was an awesome one too. I just wanted to make a lesson that shows the artist an easy way to make a snowflake that is both pretty, and traditional. The best part of this lesson is the fact that there is only a few steps to completing an awesome design of a Christmas snowflake. There really is no wrong way to make one of these pieces of frozen water drops, but at least you can get a good general idea on how to make it the easy way. I hope you guys have an awesome time learning "how to draw an easy snowflake", step by step. I will be back with some other great fun so stay seated to see what comes your way next.
