How to Draw an Angel Tattoo

1

Start with a circle for the head, and then draw out the body guidelines like you see here. Remember you will be drawing an angel from the side view.

2

You can start sketching out the angels face from a side profile like you see here. This means you just need to draw the nose, lips, chin, and jaw line as well as the hair line and elf like ear.

3

Sketch in the eyes, eyelashes, and eyebrows. As you can see she is slightly closing her angelic eyes.

4

You will now finish the head by sketching out her very subtle but beautiful hairstyle which is flowing nicely.

5

All you have to do here is draw out the hair strand lines to add detail and texture to the angel's hair.

6

Now you will be sketching out her upper body which is the only parts of the body that will be exposed and drawn. Start with the neck, and then draw the back, and butt arch. Next, sketch out the chest, and then her one shoulder and arm.

7

Finish sketching out her body by drawing in the torso, and stomach as well as the cap off line. You will also need to draw in her hand which is peeking out from under her crossed arm.

8

Begin drawing the angel wings starting with the top bone, and then slowly sketch in the feathers and front wing point.

9

Sketch in another layer of feather like so, and as you can see with each layer of feathering the feather shapes get longer, and a bit wider.

10

For the last drawing step you will sketch out the last layer of feathers for the angel's one wings. Be sure that the last feather layer is long, beautiful, and light looking. Erase the lines and shapes that you drew in step one to clean up the drawin

11

Now that you are all done with your drawing, your new angel tattoo should look just like the one you see here. Now it's time to pick some shades to color in your new drawing. Great job guys!

Description: I hope everyone is enjoying their Easter, for those of you that celebrate this holiday. I myself had an awesome Easter because it was a beautiful slightly warm sunny day. I watched my dogs run around the yard as they chased away all kinds of wild baby birds. Oh yeah, I also seen a mother moose and her baby on the way home to my house, it was an awesome view because they where so close. Anyways the last lesson I have for you guys for the day is going to be "how to draw an angel tattoo", step by step. I was actually saving this tutorial for today because it's kind of a holy day seeing how Easter is a holiday where folks celebrate the rebirth of Jesus Christ. I wanted to make a different style angel that would be wicked easy to replicate and have fun with. It's going to be a side view image of a simple looking adult female angel. Her hands are crossed around her chest and her hair is blowing in the breeze. I also made sure that the wings would be easy to make as well, since I know there are a lot of artists that have trouble in this particular area. I think she came out looking kind of pretty with a nice subtle presence. Learning "how to draw an angel tattoo" can be frustrating because you have to figure out what types of angel you would want to have inked on your body. This is a tattoo design that I would definitely get placed on my body if I was looking for an angel design. I hope you enjoy this this tutorial as much as I did making it. I will be back tomorrow with more fun stuff to draw, and with another live drawing session. Peace out people and have a happy Easter.
