How to Draw a Rug

Make the wavy shape of your rug like so. Draw the outer edges with contouring lines.

The rug is basically done. All you will do now is draw in the design to the rug. First make the inner and outer borders for the design like so.

For me I wanted to make a swirl type of design so I made the one you see here. You can create your own rug pattern, it's all up to you.

Lastly, add the fringe on the ends like so, then erase your mistakes if you have any.

You're done. Color in you rug and use your drawing in your next house room sketch.

Description: Hey guys, it's me again and I'm back with another fun, simple and basic tut on "how to draw a rug". I know that this lesson seems useless, but the truth is drawing rugs can come in very handy because when you create your own house designs and you want to add an accent rug, at least you will know where or how to start. The run is pretty simple. I wanted to make something that is seen in houses a lot and the only thing I could think of that was common is a fringe edged carpet. Of course you can create any design you wish, I just wanted to keep things simple. Anyways, thanks guys and enjoy!
