Description: Happy Christmas Eve everyone here on DragoArt.com it is me Dragon_Queen and I am back with another drawing lesson for you all. This first tutorial for the day, I will be showing you "how to draw a Piranha, step by step". Now piranhas have been described over time as being an aggressive fish with an attitude. You will also see them being depicted in cartoons as being mean, big and incredibly hungry. In all reality the piranha is like any other fish that swims in the water. Their original habitat are in the waters of the Amazon but because of there are many people that want to own these fish in aquariums, they are found in the United States only in pet stores. Even though the Piranha is supposed to have availability through retail, they are being found all over the world in waters that they don’t belong in. Folks that study this fish’s habitat and living environment believe that piranha’s end up in foreign waters due to poachers letting them go to avoid being arrested with violations of anti-poaching laws. Piranhas have silver colored skin and a reddish orange colored belly. Their bottom jaw comes outward leaving the top part of the mouth less predominate. Because these fresh water fish have such an under-bite, you are able to see their razor sharp triangle shaped teeth on the bottom of their jaw line. It is true that these fish have an incredible hunger for meat which is why they are carnivores. But it is not true that they eat anything that crosses their paths. Did you know that piranhas only eat when they are hungry or smell blood? Yup that is true; piranhas eat aggressively either when they are hungry, or when the scent of blood is in their path. Why would folks want to keep them as pest then? Well honestly I think that people like owning these fresh water fish because they have the power to starve them (which will make them incredibly hungry), and the power to feed them when they are in this state. If you have a captive piranha and you are not feeding them properly, they have been known to bite fingers and rip apart their food no matter if it is another fish, chicken meat, beef meat, or what have you. The point is, if you decide you want to buy a piranha, make sure you become an owner because you love them or because you want to learn more about them. This tutorial will show you "how to draw a piranha, step by step". Instead of drawing a realistic version I chose to do a cartoon drawing of this fish because that is how we seem them on screen.
