How to Draw a Flamingo

Step 1.

Drawing flamingos is a pretty easy concept to do. To start all you have to make is a small circle for the head, and then add one long, curved neck line. Attach this line to another larger round shape which is going to be for the body. Lastly, add two

Step 2.

Begin sketching out the shape of the flamingos' head like you see here, and then draw out the very bold, arched beak or bill. Add a colored in eyeball.

Step 3.

Before you start detailing the bill, you will need to finish sketching out the head, and then draw out the neck in full. Add some feather fuzz at the back of the head, and then draw the detailing lines to the beak.

Step 4.

Once some of the flamingo's body is sketched out, you can draw in the small wing that is folded in like you see here, and then sketch out the pretty feathery tail like so. When the feathers, tail, and wing is all drawn in, you can start the next proc

Step 5.

For your last drawing step, all you need to do is draw out the lower portion of the legs, and then the feet. Erase all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one.

Step 6.

Now that you are all done, you should end up with a drawing like the one you see here. Grab your pink coloring tools, and begin shading in the flamingo. I hope you enjoyed this lesson on how to draw a flamingo.

Description: Here’s another bird tutorial for all you feathery lovers out there. I thought it would be nice to do another lesson on "how to draw a flamingo", step by step. These birds are so pretty, and it’s not only because they are pink in color, it’s also because they seem so graceful as they go about their business. The flamingo kind of reminds me of the giraffe because they are two animals with odd characteristics. The giraffe has a long neck, and long skinny legs right? Well, the flamingo also has a long odd looking neck and skinny legs as well. These birds can stand for hours on just one leg. Imagine a human standing for like six hours on one leg? That means if we could do something like that, our bodies would have to have a lot of strength to hold up all of our body weight. Anyways, I already wrote a whole lot of stuff about this amazing bird with the very first tutorial I did back in 2008. I just basically wanted to do an updated version on "how to draw a flamingo", and I will be doing this for other tutorials on the site as well. Anything that was drawn back in 2008 will eventually be drawn again by me. I am doing this because I want fresh, updated, more detailed lessons so that it will be more enjoyable for inspiring artists to learn from. This way here, members and visitors can look at a nicely colored image, and then learn how to draw it all at the same time. I hope you guys like this submission. I will be back later on today with more drawing fun so stay tuned in to see what else I have in store for you all.
