How to Draw Edward Scissorhands
1
Drawing Edward is going to be easy but not super easy. Since you are drawing a figure, you will start this step the same you would with any other. Draw a round shape for the head, and then add the subtle facial lines. Next draw the shape of the torso
2
Now you can sketch out the shape of his saddened face. Once that is done begin sketching out his hair. As you know Edward has some major messy locks, which means don't try and give him a nicely groomed do. Sketch out his ear, and then add the lining
3
Instead of drawing more of the head, or face, sketch out the outlined shape of his upper body, all the way down to his hips. Be sure to draw a neck, and collar line too.
4
Now you can sketch out his messy wild looking hairstyle. When this is done you can then sketch in the eyes, and mouth, as well as detail inside of the ear. Draw the collar that seems to be wrapped around his neck, and then draw some of his arms. When
5
Finish drawing out the arms, and begin sketching out the his scissors for hands. The scissors are long, bold, and sharp so make sure you draw out his hands the way you see them here.
6
Continue to sketch out his upper body like so, and then draw the thick belt around his waist. Don't forget to draw the buckle, and add the stitching details too. Draw more horizontal lines for the leather top, and then add some coloring or shading.
7
Now you will begin sketching out his legs and or pants. As you can see the outline for his legs are not smooth at all. This is because Edward is wearing leather pants that have buckles and straps everywhere. Once the outline for his legs are drawn, b

For the last drawing step you will draw the feet or boots, and then finish sketching in the detailing and definition to his pants. Erase the lines and shapes that you drew in step one to finish off the character.

Description: Now that you all had a taste of the chibi version of Edward Scissorhands, I think it's time I upload the real deal from the actual movie. As you can imagine, sketching out Edward is a bit tricky because of all the detailing to his leather one piece suit. Instead of going insane and making this lesson seem impossible to replicate by novice artists, I decided to make it as easy as I could without loosing the quality. Of course he is still wearing his leather get-up, and he still has those scissors for hands. The only thing I didn't add was all the detailing that is apart of his suit. You would literally be there for hours just sketching in all the holes, stitching, belts, and so on and so forth. Anyway, for those of you that don't know, Tim Burton directed this film back in 1990. It's a story about a man that was created by an inventor who had a vision to build a man from scratch giving him scissors for his hands. When Edward was almost done, his maker died of a heart attack leaving the almost mute artificial man, to be by himself isolated and alone. Some years later, an Avon representative went to the door anticipating that she would sell some make-up to someone that lived in the big mansion. Peg helps herself in and calls out a brief “hello”. When no one answers her, she makes her way up the stairs and eventually finds a man standing. She convinces him to come along with her to her home, and it is there he sees the picture of Peg's daughter. Edward automatically falls in love. Through out the movie he uses his hands to cut hair, and trim trees an bushes into fabulous creations like dragons, dinosaurs, animals, people, and objects. Johnny Depp plays Edward Scissorhands, Winona Ryder plays Kim, and Anthony Michael Hall is Jim the selfish jerk that cares only for himself and no one else. All in all I think you guys will love this tutorial on “"how to draw Edward Scissorhands", step by step. I mean let's face it, this is probably one of the most classical films from the nineties that set the stage for other dark films like The Corpse Bride, and some other Tim Burton favorites. I will be back tomorrow gang because I have some serious sleep to do. Peace out and have fun, but don't over do it.
