How to Draw Cuphead

Step 1.


We will start with the guides for the head and body like so, then draw in the limb guidelines and shapes.

Step 2.


Next, we will draw a large cup shape for the head and face like so. There should be an opening at the top to make it look like a cup.

Step 3.


Start using the facial guidelines to draw in Cuphead's large eyes, whimsical mouth or smile and then his nose. Don't forget to color in some pupils too.

Step 4.


Add a hollow at the top to create the cup and then draw a nice thick straw with stripes. Lastly for this step all you have to do is draw in the cup handle.

Step 5.


We will get started with Cuphead's body beginning with the arm and hand. Notice that the hand is in a clutched fist. Also draw in some of the body line.

Step 6.


Draw Cuphead's other arm and then draw in the rest of the body shape. You will also need to add the shorts too.

Step 7.


Just draw the closed hand in this step and proceed to step eight.

Step 8.


Lastly, draw the legs, socks and shoes and then you are all done. Begin erasing your guidelines, shapes and mistakes.

Step 9.


Here is the line art when you are all done. Now you can go ahead and add some color to your character.

Description: So even though this character won't be seen on the video game platforms for the Xbox One and Steam until 2016, this game is already becoming popular with folks who are waiting for its release. Today, I will be showing you how to draw Cuphead, step by step. As you can see the character design is the same as the cartoons that where drawn back in the 1930s. The characters and game was developed by Canadian brothers Chad and Jared Moldenhauer. They specifically wanted the game to be created to look like the old traditional looking cartoon characters from the era. As you can see they all look hand drawn, hand inked and have watercolor style backgrounds. Drawing Cuphead is going to be a fun way to go back in time to the 1930s. I will be back with one more figure from the upcoming game so stick around. And remember, you can get the game on your Xbox One or Steam in 2016.
