How to Draw Blade

Step 1.


Lets start with some basic lines and shapes to create a frame that you will be able to work with as you tackle this lesson on Blade. First, draw a small round shape for the head, and then draw in a neck line. Next, make a triangular shape for the tor   

Step 2.


Now you will need to start sketching out the actual structure of Blade's face like you see here. At the same time draw in the hair line like so, and then be sure to draw out the shapes of his ears.

Step 3.


Draw in Blade's sunglasses, and then sketch out his nose, and mouth just like you see here.

Step 4.


Color in the shades nicely, and then finish sketching out his hair which is short. Next, add some detailing and definition to his face like the cheeks, and inside of the ears, and then draw in the rest of his mouth, the mustache and his chin hair.

Step 5.


Now you will start having some challenging fun. Begin by sketching out the shape of his thick neck, and then draw in the beginning parts of his leather trench coat. AS you can see the main things that are visible right now is his shirt collar, and th   

Step 6.


Continue to sketch out the leather trench by drawing in more of the jacket collar, and the front of the coat too. You will also begin drawing out the jacket sleeve which is rolled up to just below the elbow. Draw in the two swayed arched lines, and m   

Step 7.


As you can see you will sketching out the rest of Blade's torso in this step. The chest and stomach are well defined and when you are done drawing in that six-pack, start drawing out his belt and gun holster too.

Step 8.


Here you will sketch out the forearms, and then draw in his gloved hands. The left hand is going to be holding his blade or katana sword, and the right hand is in just a clenched fist.

Step 9.


before you start drawing out his weapon, you will need to sketch out his legs, boots, and then the leg straps on the lower half of his pants. As you can see the pants should cuff inside of the boots. Add some detailing and then move to step ten.

Step 10.


All you need to do here is just sketch in some detailing on his boots and then draw in the soles. Blade is always wearing a pair of black leather combat boots.

Step 11.


Now you can draw in his trusted vampire slaying sword. Begin with the handle and work your way up. I call it a katana because that is what it looks like to me. Remember, only Blade is able to manipulate his sword to do all kinds of tricks.

Step 12.


Finally, draw out the tail of Blade's leather trench coat which is flapping in the wind. When you are done there, you can start erasing the lines and shapes that you drew in step one to clean up the drawing.

Description: Okay everyone, if you're looking at the thumbnail and notice something familiar about the character that stands before you, its because he is the very same vampire slayer we all know and definitely love. I read recently that G4 is coming out with a new animated series line up for 2011. One of the cartoon shows is going to be Blade. This tutorial that you see before you now, is going to show you "how to draw Blade", step by step. G4 is working together with Sony Pictures to bring us four new anime cartoons based on our favorite Marvel Comic book characters. Blade is not the only one to take stage; Iron Man, X-MEN, and Wolverine are also going to have their spots as well. Even though I don't know too much about what the new Blade series is going to be based on, I can almost guarantee that some of the old characters from the first movie will be making an appearance like Deacon Frost. I never actually read any of the comics based on Blade, but if I was a person that was into comic books, I bet I would enjoy reading the magazine. The vampire slayer that we know as Blade, is really named “Eric Brooks”. He was born into this world as a half blood which is basically half human, half vampire. Even though he has character traits of a vampire, he finds a way to fight his blood thirst, and go after Deacon Frost and his gang to seek out revenge for killing his mother. I think the anime series will be a hit, and if you watch G4 on the reg, be sure to keep an eye out for the new series coming your way.
