How to Draw a Soul

Let us start with the small head shape and then draw the torso and hip guide shapes like so.

Define the shape of the head and then draw in the eyes and straining mouth. Color inside the mouth and for the eye sockets.

We will now begin sketching out the body starting with the neck and shoulders. Once that is done draw the torso, hips and legs all in once piece.

Finish the body by drawing the arms which lay straight along the sides of the body. When that is done draw the hands as well.

Lastly, finish the body by adding definition to the chest forming an emaciated looking torso. Then add detailing to the stomach and then draw the crotch and legs. Erase your mistakes and guides.

Here is the finished product when you are done. Now just color in your soul and add a nice background image.

Description: I don't think I have ever made a lesson on how to draw a soul before and since I have been feeling very creative I wanted to make this concept of a soul that isn't ready to leave this world and because of it, the soul is falling into the pit of despair. I love the color contrasting that is done with this piece. The energy that is leaving the body as the soul descends to its final resting place really adds a certain wow factor to the whole concept. Anyways, this isn't going to be a hard tut to follow because it's a very basic drawing lesson. Just have fun as you tackle the tut and remember to upload your finished drawing when you are done.
