A short Cat tutorial

I start off with sketchy circles for the muzzle and the most of the head.

Now I briefly sketch what the pic will look like.

I make a new layer in my computer drawing program and trace over what I want to keep, making sure there are no holes or gaps.

Now I hide (or erase) what I don't want to be showing anymore.

Now in a different layer I do the base colors, with markings and such.

Then in another layer, with brush opacity 50%, I do the shading.

Then with the smudge tool, I smudge the edges of the shading so it looks more natural.
