Description: In today’s tutorial you will be learning how to draw The Silver Surfer. Growing up as a kid I use to watch a lot of Marvel Comics cartoons, usually the cartoons I watched where either on Saturday mornings or they sometimes aired after school hours. I always got confused with the Silver Surfer and Iceman because they both surf through the skies in mid air. The only difference between the two is that one surfs on ice and the other surfs on a silver board. They also look very similar in appearance as well. Again, they both have bold heads, and usable eyes and bodies full of muscle. His real name is Norrin Radd and he is an alien being from the planet Zenn-La which is part of the Milky Way galaxy. The people of Zenn-La are peaceful non violent beings, but their world is turned upside down and put through turmoil by the evil of Galactus. In a struggle to stop Galactus the Devourer of Worlds, the Council of Scientists let Norrin approach the evil being using a spaceship. The whole idea was to make a deal with Galactus to spare the planet of peace and serenity. By surprise, Galactus agreed to not destroy Zenn-La in exchange that Norrin must become a servant and become Heralds of Galactus. A portion of Norrin’s powers came from the Power Cosmic and transformed him into a being made of silver and then was given his new name of the Silver Surfer. His duty was find planets that contained the type of energy that Galactus needed to feed on. The more planets Silver Surfer found the more scarce they became to find. They both knew that if there were no more planets for Galactus to feed on to survive, then he would surely die. Without Norrin knowing, Galactus started to play with his mind and making him more repressed by not recognizing his morals. Many of us know this character from the movie that was released in 2007 called Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. When he first comes head to head with the foursome, he battles them to conquer planet earth for Galactus’s consumption. It takes a hard hitting time and some pretty cool persuasion to convince Norrin A.K.A. Silver Surfer to find and rediscover his honest noble being that lives inside of him. Eventually he betrays Galactus and save earth from total annihilation. The one price he had to pay for betraying Galactus was being exiled to planet earth. In the Marvel Comics world even though the Silver Surfer went bad for a while, he was a part of the Defenders who restored peace and good to crime infested areas as well as stopping villains from taking over the world and all of man kind. I think I did an awesome job on this tutorial and I know you will have fun learning how to draw the Silver Surfer step by step. All you have to do is follow the simple easy to read instructions to start you on your way.
