Description: In this next tutorial I thought I would do a character from a popular anime show. Today you will be learning how to draw Kirara from Inuyasha. Now, for those of you that watch this show you know exactly who and what Kirara is. Kirara is a nekomata yokai and has two forms she can take shape into. One is a tiny cute looking feline creature that has a yellowish cream colored coat, black ears, black paws, a pair of large red eyes, and two puffy tails. Kirara is known to be a loyal and faithful companion to Sango who is known to be an exterminator and who also comes from a mountain village called Taijiya where other exterminators live. Kirara usually appears as gentle kitten that wouldn’t or couldn’t harm a fly, but when her true form is realesed she turns into a massive saber-toothed cat that is as big as a full sized vehicle. When Kirara is in her true saber-toothed self, her legs and tails are covered with fire where she will then give her the ability to fly. Her main weapons of defense are her razor sharp claws and pointed fangs. Now even though she is a nekomata demon, Kirara carries none of their tendencies. In fact, she reflects the very opposite of traits that these demons are believed to have. Japanese anime cartoons are always interesting to me because the writers always make up these outrageous plots and story lines. The creatures and beings that they conjure up are also so fascinating and very colorful. The characters Japanese artist develop are also interesting to look at as well. I mean look how the show Pokemon took off in the mid 90’s, that was so insane. You couldn’t look anywhere without seeing characters from the series. Another popular Japanese anime series was Yu Gi Oh. Now that was a big part of American pop culture as well and still is to this day but not as bad as 10 years ago. I can remember watching those shows as well. I can also remember watching Pokemon 2000 the movie. At any rate learning how to draw anime is fortunately very easy to do. So in this tutorial you will learn how to draw Kirara from Inuyasha step by step. Take your time and have fun. Pretty soon you will be drawing on your own without tutorials.
