Step 2.
Begin sketching out the shape of the bird's head like so, and then draw in the wide shape of the arched beak. Be sure to sketch in those few feathers in the back of the parrots head which is called the crown.

Step 3.
Now it's time to draw out the oval shaped eye, draw in some skin textured wrinkles, and then draw out the bottom of the parrot's beak which is also considered the bottom jaw. Oh yeah, color in a pupil, and nose hole too.

Step 4.
Okay, it looks like we have the head drawn out perfectly, now it's time to start tackling the body. Start by drawing out the chest, and then draw the parrot's wings which rest on the sides of its body.

Step 5.
For the last drawing step, all you need to do is draw in the feathery tail, and then draw the parrot's feet and toe nails like so. Erase any visible guides that you drew in step one to clean up this colorful bird.

Description:
Hey everyone, here’s a fresh tutorial on an animal I know lots of people love. I’ve been a big fan of birds, more than cats or dogs. Personally, dogs aren’t my type of animal to hang with, so I decide to chillax with birds. In this lesson, we’ll be learning “how to draw a parrot for kids” in basic step by step format. Drawing parrots is pretty easy; my favorite breed is a Macaw, the bird we’ll be drawing in this tutorial. I believe the best bird to own is the parakeet, because they’re so easy to handle. A cockatiel is second, but the parrot is third. Let’s get into this tutorial, so we can draw parrots much easier than any ordinary tutorial. Thanks so much guys, and be sure to stick around on Dragoart.com to see what else comes your way!
